Artist Statement

I’m a late blooming artist who always sensed I was pregnant with something that wanted to be brought to life, but did not discover my creative path until I was in my 50s. My work is an intuitive blend of acrylic, watercolor, photography, collage and mark-making. Nature, the elements and the unseen world are my most trusted muses.
My paintings are never premeditated. They are always a revelation. Since I never quite know what’s going to emerge, there is an element of surprise and delight when a painting begins to take shape and speak. The figures that appear in some of my pieces seem to show up as if they were just waiting to be remembered and brought to life.
