Artist Statement
Laura Kempen has been passionate about art since childhood, working across a wide range of media including sculpture, painting, wood carving, mosaics, book arts, and fiber arts. She studied at the Idyllwild School of Music and the Arts, though much of her artistic practice has been self-directed.
Her work explores themes of nature, transformation, and the cycles of life, with a particular focus on the organic power of Mother Nature and the feminine forces of birth, renewal, and change. Through her art, Kempen celebrates the interconnectedness of living systems and the transformative processes that shape both the natural world and human experience.
