Artist Statement

My paintings explore the quieter, darker territories of human experience-longing, loss, memory, and the emotional residue of what is no longer there. Working primarily in oil and mixed media, I build heavily textured surfaces through layers of gesso, paint, and intuitive gesture. I approach abstraction as a way of giving form to
feelings that resist language.
My process is instinctive and physical. I allow each painting to develop through accumulation, erasure, tension, and chance, leaving traces of what came before embedded within the surface. Darkness and color become emotional rather than descriptive, while texture carries a sense of history, vulnerability, and decay.
