Artist Statement

I create mixed-media portrait illustrations using watercolor, colored pencil, and ballpoint pen on paper. My recurring feminine figures are versions of myself, reflecting different moments in my life and exploring identity, memory, and personal experience. My process begins with red pencil, which establishes the composition and remains visible in the finished work. I embrace the uncertainty of the process; sometimes the work develops as I imagined, and sometimes it takes an unexpected direction. I enjoy this balance between planning and allowing the work to evolve naturally.
