Artist Statement

The ability to express myself through art profoundly feeds my soul. I’m fascinated with using light as a medium of art. Light itself is a source of inspiration for me.  It has always been present in my works of art as a central element. Light from within, above, and below my being is what moves me, it is my muse. Light for me, is a powerful force. It travels to every corner of the cosmos. It is infinite.  The extent of its comprehension transcends the human mind, keeps me intrigued, and lures me into the expression of my being.

Artist Short Biography

Fernando Mazoco was born and raised in Porto Alegre, Brazil. He is a self-taught, first-generation artist in his lineage. Since a very young age, he was very curious about observing and exploring multiple facets of the world. Living in many different countries was essential for him to broaden his horizons. He considers himself a rebel for daring to step out of the conventional norms of society. Questioning many different aspects of the status quo is something that moves him and is deeply rooted in his being. “I’m curious, I’m not afraid to play with different mediums. I want to try something new every day for the rest of my life. The relentless search for the new, for the unconventional, is what really moves me”
