My art reflects the wonder and awe I experience in nature, music, and the dynamic movement I perceive within them. Born on a Caribbean island, I am deeply inspired by the stunning sunsets, sunrises, and the vibrant colors of turquoise, emerald, and blue that dance across the crystal-clear waters. The way the water caresses the shore, flowing gracefully over the sand, is a constant source of inspiration and contrast in my work.
Through my art, I aim to transport viewers into these moments, allowing them to feel the same sense of wonder I experience in the natural world. Over the years, my pouring technique has evolved to create layers that give my pieces a unique three-dimensional quality, allowing light and color to interact in ways that evoke both depth and movement. Each piece is a journey, a visual rhythm that mirrors the fluidity and energy I feel in nature and music.
I was born in Havana, Cuba, and at the age of 8, I was sent to the United States with my sister to escape the growing threat of communist indoctrination. We were among 14,000 children who arrived in Miami, where we were placed in orphanages and foster homes across the country. It was during my time in the orphanage that I discovered my deep love for art. I would draw pictures to send to my parents, assuring them that we were safe. Through these drawings, I realized that art had the power to bring comfort, peace, and joy—becoming my lifelong passion.
A year later, my parents and I were reunited. After high school, although I dreamt of attending art school, I chose to attend secretarial school to help support my family. I went on to build a successful business career, but my love for art remained constant. As a self-taught artist, I have explored a variety of mediums, and over the last decade, I have focused on perfecting the pouring technique using Pebeo paints.
Throughout my artistic journey, I have been fortunate to exhibit my work in prominent shows such as Spectrum and Red Dot in Miami, the New York Expo, and SOFA in Chicago, as well as galleries in San Diego, Dallas, and the Hamptons. My art has also been featured in several art magazines, and I am represented by various galleries. In 2024, I was honored with the Masters Award by Art Tour International.
In 2025, I will have the privilege of exhibiting at the Museu Europeu d’Art Modern in Barcelona, Spain in June, and at Art Shopping Carrousel du Louvre in Paris, France in October.
