Artist Statement

My work tries to explore color and emotion. Inspired from historical art movements. I also try to merge intricate patterns with natural elegance of the human form incorporating ornamental details inviting the viewer to engage between simplicity and complexity. I use acrylic paint, oil and watercolor. Mostly acrylics.

Artist Biography

I’m a contemporary artist known for my unique style that blends elements of expressionism and figurative abstract. Born in Canada, raised in Italy and living in the US. I have developed a fascination for art at a young age, especially in Italy.
Have travelled throughout Europe, North America and Asia, and have come to appreciate other various artistic cultures from those regions. Inspired by the works of masters like Picasso and Gustav Klimt, I began experimenting with their own style that incorporated brushstrokes and fragmented forms of my own. Their work often explores the human form, using distortion and abstraction to convey a range of emotions.
I have set up my own website https://www.nicogalleria.com where some of my work is shown. Have sold my works privately and, as of recent, approaching various on-line brokers. Showcased my paintings at various domestic and international galleries.
