My mixed media practice explores complexity and duality through natural systems, merging organic processes with structured forms. I am drawn to moments of disruption, including collapse, redirection, and scarring, which reveal the limits of control and echo humanity’s impact on the environment. In my work, duality is not opposition but interdependence: structure creates the conditions for freedom. My recent abstract paintings in the Range series use layering processes inspired by trails and landscapes I have returned to throughout my life. These topographically informed works reflect on the growing disconnect between humanity and the natural world, particularly where expanding urban environments meet mountainous terrain.
