I am a Melbourne based textile artist exploring the way memory lives in the body. As I approach 50, I have been thinking about the children I imagined, the child I once was, my siblings, and the woman I am still becoming.
In this Ghosts series, I wrap armatures with torn, hand dyed reclaimed silk and build figures from very fine fibres. They are almost transparent, yet they cast shadows. Each work gives a temporary shape to a person, feeling or possibility that remains present even when I cannot hold it.
