Woodblock printing is my chosen medium for its raw, direct quality and its deep history of expressive power. Inspired by Edvard Munch, Kathe Kollwitz, and the German expressionists, I was drawn to the immediacy of carving and printing by hand. Using scrap wood from local lumberyards, oil based inks, and fine papers, I embrace the imperfections of the process as part of the image’s character.
