Artist Statement

I am a Zen artist specializing in oil paintings and photography with subjects primarily in nature and often containing Buddhist symbolism. Zen art is simply art as meditation, just painting without thought or planning,
done with or without object. Lately I paint mostly in nature, with a focus on water lilies and lotuses, a Buddhist symbol of enlightenment. Water is one of my favorite subjects as it features prominently with water lilies and has a life-giving mystical quality all its own.
