Artist Statement

Anton Small (b. 1982) is a surrealist painter working primarily in oil on canvas and gouache on paper. His work explores the space between abstraction and representation, where imagined forms emerge from fragments of the familiar. Rather than illustrating fixed ideas, he approaches painting as a visual language through which concepts, emotions, and intuitions can take shape beyond words.
