My work explorers the intersection between the seen and unseen, blending elements of reality with layers of imagination to create narratives that are both familiar and surreal. Drawing inspiration from nature, human emotions, and the complexities of identity, i am to evoke a sense of curiosity and introspection in the viewer.
Through my paintings, i seek to capture fleeting moments of tension and harmony. Each piece is ameditation on contrast -light and shadow, presence and absence, the physical and the ephemeral. By focusing on these dualities, I invite the viewer to engage with the work on both an emotional and intellectual level, encouraging them to find the personal meaning within the ambiguity. My art is about connection- between individuals, between worlds, and between the seen and felt. I hope to
create spaces, where viewers can pause, reflect and perhaps see something familiar from a new perspective.
Born in New Jersey, he moved to Medellín, Colombia, at the age of six, experiencing a major cultural shift that greatly influenced his artistic perspective. It was in Medellín that Alex first learned to paint with oils at just ten years old, focusing on still life and landscapes.
After returning to Miami for high school, Alex temporarily paused his artistic pursuits until college, where encouragement from peers and professors reignited his passion for painting. With a background in graphic design, Alex skillfully integrates design principles into his artwork, creating pieces characterized by warmth and vibrant colors. His work reflects a blend of his early artistic foundations and his
professional design experience.
