I am an eco-artist. I utilize recycled and found materials to create my work: masks, dioramas, sculptures, artist’s books, drawings, collages, and prints. I create with paper maché, playdough, paper, pressed cardboard cartons, found objects, fabric, toys, buttons, ceramic and packing materials. My artistic practice utilizes mythology, dream imagery, humor, and whimsy. I am influenced by world folk art and artists Red Grooms, Robert Rauschenberg and Betye Saar. I am inspired by Latin American masks, primitive Mid-Century American tourist art, and children’s drawings.
