Artist Statement

The beauty I encounter on walks or journeys inspires me to preserve it on canvas for myself and to share with others.  I love contrasting light and shadow, and how sunlight creates vibrant colors. The depth and space of a painted scene, hung on the wall, expands that room and the experience of the viewer.  Without art – whether created by nature or ourselves, our world would be dull and boring.
