My work explores the space between presence and absence, recognition and ambiguity. I am interested in the way memory and perception influence what we see-and how a figure, gesture, place, or moment can remain with us even as its details begin to disappear.
Working with acrylic, collage, pastel, charcoal, graphite, and layered mixed media, I build surfaces intuitively through accumulation and removal. I add, obscure, scrape, soften, erase, and rediscover marks, allowing the history of the process to remain visible. Rather than beginning with a completely predetermined image, I often allow forms to emerge gradually through the act of making.
