Ellen Fuller – Turning Into A tree

Description

Artist Statement

I am a photo-realist painter and create meticulously detailed, lifelike acrylic paintings. With each new piece, I challenge myself to push the boundaries of my technical skill and creative expression, often achieving a level of detail that leads viewers to mistake my work for photographs. My paintings are rooted in deep visual intimacy, born from intense observation and a meditative process of immersion. This journey includes contemplation, focus, frustration, and joy. The act of painting is deeply absorbing and soul-nourishing for me-my happiest moments are spent at the easel, where time slips away and words fall silent. Each brushstroke is infused with a quiet energy and peace drawn from my lifelong practices of
Qigong, Tai Chi, and meditation. These disciplines shape my personal expression and subtly animate my work.
