Artist Statement

Because our environment and human experience are important sources of inspiration for my art, I feel compelled to express my thoughts and emotional reactions. My digital Techspressionist style reflects the influence of geometric abstraction, the color field movement, as well as my background as a stone and paper sculptor. My sculptural background specifically influences my digital monochrome compositions with shaded forms and a graded range of color. I find myself always looking for dynamic lines in both my digital and sculptural artwork. I see geometric beauty all around me. The circle and sphere dominate my digital compositions, and I use them to stand for life in various situations. The digital painting medium allows me to express my thoughts and emotions with greater spontaneity through my laptop, painting programs, and printers which serve as studio, brushes, palette, and canvas
